People Moves: Nuveen builds ETF business; Voya poaches JP Morgan exec

Nuveen building ETF business. Nuveen Investments has hired Martin Kremenstein for the newly created role of head of ETFs. Kremenstein will report to Greg Bottjer, head of product strategy. Kremenstein most recently worked as managing director for asset and wealth management at Deutsche Bank, helping establish the firm’s US ETF business.

Voya grabs JP Morgan exec. Karen Eisenbach has joined Voya Financial as chief marketing officer for the retirement business. Eisenbach will be based in the Windsor, Conn. office, reporting to CEO of Retirement Charles Nelson. Eisenbach most recently worked as executive director of retirement marketing for JP Morgan Asset Management.

Perella Weinberg Partners poaches from Goldman Sachs. James Dunham has joined Perella as managing director in the asset management business based in New York. Dunham comes to the firm from Goldman Sachs, where he worked with partnerships for hedge funds and private equity fund of funds, sub-advised asset management, and outsourced CIOs in the US and Canada.

HSBC grows emerging market debt team. HSBC Global Asset Management has hired Nishant Updahyay as portfolio manager, Scott Davis as portfolio engineer, and Tatiana Brikulskaya as credit analyst for the emerging market debt team. Updahyay joins the firm from Pimco, where he worked as a portfolio manager for diversified income. Davis previously worked as a fixed income trader at Aberdeen Asset Management. Brikulskaya joins from UniCredit Bank, where she worked as a credit analyst.
