Picasso ink drawing on auction in NYC expected to bring in $35 million
Works from art greats including Picasso, van Gogh, Calder, Giacometti, Rothko, Degas, and Jackson Pollock will be auctioned in New York next month.
Sotheby's is hosting the November 4 event on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, reports the New York Post. The entire collection is worth more than $500 million, and Picasso's "Femme assise sur une chaise" is estimated to sell for up to $35 million. The pieces come from the collection of A. Alfred Taubman, shopping mall magnate and philanthropist.
For those who can't afford the pricey pieces, Sotheby's York Avenue galleries display most of the works free to the public between October 24 and 27.
