Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban says that his team will allow fans to purchase tickets next season using cryptocurrencies, as Bloomberg reports.
Cuban revealed the franchise’s decision in response to a person on Twitter who asked him when the Mavericks would allow fans to buy tickets through bitcoin. He later confirmed the news to Bloomberg, adding that the organization would also be accepting ether and that it would be will be “taking tokens originated by companies we have business relationships.”

Bloomberg notes that Cuban had tweeted in June that bitcoin was a bubble, but then invested in the cryptocurrency later in the year. “Some people want to buy products in krypto to prove a point. We are happy to make it easy for them,” Cuban wrote in an email to Bloomberg.
The Dallas Mavericks will presumably be the first franchise in the National Basketball Association to allow tickets to be purchased with cryptocurrencies.
